The article provides details on the error meaning, causes and ways to repair the error.

“Error 5007” is the error name that contains the details of the error, including why it occurred, which system component or application malfunctioned to cause this error along with some other information. The numerical code in the error name contains data that can be deciphered by the manufacturer of the component or application that malfunctioned. The error using this code may occur in many different locations within the system, so even though it carries some details in its name, it is still difficult for a user to pinpoint and fix the error cause without specific technical knowledge or appropriate software.

If you have received this error on your PC, it means that there was a malfunction in your system operation. Common reasons include incorrect or failed installation or uninstallation of software that may have left invalid entries in your Windows registry, consequences of a virus or malware attack, improper system shutdown due to a power failure or another factor, someone with little technical knowledge accidentally deleting a necessary system file or registry entry, as well as a number of other causes. The immediate cause of the “Error 5007” error is a failure to correctly run one of its normal operations by a system or application component.

With this error, like with most system or application errors, the user is usually given the option to send an error report to the software publisher, which is a good way to help the publisher eliminate such errors in future software versions. For a more immediate fix, advanced PC users may be able to repair the error by manually editing the registry, and others may want to hire a technician to do it for them. However, since any manipulations with the Windows registry always carry a risk of rendering the operating system unbootable, whenever a user is in any doubt of their technical skills or knowledge, they should only use special software that is meant to repair the Windows registry without requiring any special skills from the user.

Safe way to repair the error:

The same application can be used to run preventative measures to reduce the chance of this or other system errors appearing in the future.

Hello-

Im getting this error when running ActiveReports (the “No default printer installed” error).  In looking on the boards I see other people getting this error as well.  Has there been any progress on resolving this?  Even in the help files this specific error is cited as one to be ignored.

By default, Active Reports uses the default printer to obtain the page dimensions to use when running the report. Therefore a default print driver is necessary, unless you override this by setting the printername property equal to an empty string. Take a look at the following forum post: http://www.datadynamics.com/forums/26691/ShowPost.aspx.

Have you tried suppressing the error using the error event?

Ex.

Private Sub ActiveReport_Error(l)If number = 5007 thenCancelDisplay = TrueEnd ifEnd Sub

That’s what my code does, but that stops the report from running.  Ideally Id like the error not to happen at all.

We do have a printer installed on this machine, and also the problem is intermittant.  Sometimes the report completes and sometimes it does not.  We still see the problem even when using the line:

Me.Printer.DeviceName = “”

We encounter the problem after calling the Report.Run call but before the Report_Start event even begins.

Question: Q: Error 5007 More Less

Hi all, I am new to AS3 and just ran in to this problem.I am trying to have actionscript 3 and greensocks tweenlite change the alpha properties of another file on roll over.

I can do it using just pure actionscript 3; however when I try to use Tweenlite I run in to this error:

5007: An ActionScript file must have at least one externally visible definition

The code I have used is:

image = mc that has the rollover function added to it;info = mc that has it’s alpha set to 0 and I am trying to get it to tween to 1 in 0.5 seconds.

import com.greensock.*;import com.greensock.easing.*;

image.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, over);image.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT, out);

function over(event:MouseEvent):void{

TweenLite.to(info, 0.5, {alpha:1});

}

function out(event:MouseEvent):void{

TweenLite.to(info, 0.5, {alpha:0});

}

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advanced!

Oh and all my instance names are setuo properly so it’s not that!

make sure you’re using the as3 version of TweenLite.  if you think you are, copy and paste the first 20 or so lines of your TweenLite class.

Nevermind.

SOLVED.

I was using Greensocks AS2 compilation.I found someone with the same problem as me and the suggestion was to check the asctionscrip version.

Thanks Kglad =)

you’re welcome.
